Death Certificate
The Canadian Death Certificate must be done with the Vital Statistics Office in which the death happened (Province). The Certificate can be obtained in these contacts. The Death Certificate must be notarized, authenticated/Apostilled/certified and legalized by the consulate if the document will be used outside of the country.

Document Preparation

Authentication

Legalization
There is no central registry for death certificate in Canada, this document must be asked and obtained from the appropriate service which is the vital statistics office of the province in which the event occurred. Unfortunately , the death certificate can not be requested from the consulate or the embassy , however the demand must be through the appropriate vital statistics https://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/health/vital/2012001/com . Our office can do the request on your behalf of this document and shipped back to if you are here in Canada or out of the country if all the information are available to do the job on your behalf.
If you are out of Canada and you need the death certificate for one of these purposes or others like for a heritage, a will , banque purposes , real estate …in this case the document has to be authenticated by the DFAIT (Department of Foreign Affairs Canada/ JLAC-Authentication Services Section) and then legalized by the embassy or the consulate in which the death certificate will be used. The original document does not need the notary public stamp/seal and signature it requires only the authentication/Apostille and the legalization/certification to be valid and recognized oversees.
Here after the contact the links of different vital statistics of the provinces in which the event occurred in order to request the death certificate.

For more information you may need, one of our specialists can assist and provide you with the prompt details you may need for all services of the notarization, authentication/attestation, apostille, certification/legalization of your documents.
The three steps follow: Preparation of the documents, notarization by the notary public/lawyer (if this service is necessary), authentication/apostille, legalization/certification then the death document is ready to be valid abroad.
